Tell us what is locked inside

Start with the vehicle’s make, model and approximate year. Tell us whether the keys are visible inside, are in the trunk, are missing or are not working. Those situations can need different next steps. Mention any other issue you already know about, such as a dead battery or a door that will not open normally.

You do not need to try an improvised entry method before calling. Forcing a door or inserting unfamiliar tools can create another problem. Describe the situation and let us confirm whether lockout assistance is appropriate for your vehicle.

Make it easy to find you

A large parking lot can be harder to navigate than a street address suggests. Share the business name, entrance, parking level or a nearby landmark. Include the vehicle’s color and tell us where you can be reached. Ask what identification or authorization you should have ready before service; the answer can depend on the circumstances.

If a person or animal is inside the locked vehicle and in immediate danger, contact emergency services first. Make that situation clear when speaking with us.

Confirm the plan before service

Ask about the expected cost and current arrival estimate when you call. Let us know if you are arranging the call through a roadside assistance provider so payment expectations can be discussed. A successful entry does not solve every key problem: if a key is lost or damaged, you may still need separate key replacement help. Tell us that detail at the start.
